Simon Towns joined Constellation Brands New Zealand as Managing Director in May 2016, after he was promoted from SVP Strategy and Development for Constellation Brands in San Francisco.

In the U.S., he partnered with Constellation’s global Wine and Spirits leadership team to bring a coordinated and cohesive approach to how we develop, drive and implement our Wine and Spirits division strategy. He was also charged with coordinating and leading a cross-functional team to solve core business issues that impede the growth of our wine and spirits business.

Simon has more than 15 years of experience working across strategy, finance, investment banking, wine and consumer-packaged goods companies. He formerly served as Managing Director of a major sparkling producer in Napa, overseeing all aspects of the business.

An Auckland native, Simon was a professional athlete with an illustrious field hockey career. He has led teams across New Zealand, Australia, France and the UK, including the Olympic Games in 2004 for New Zealand.
