Each year at harvest, we look for a few stellar people to join us as cellarhands, weighbridge coordinators, wine composition coordinators and more. Our Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is the No 1 wine in Canada and the top-selling Sauvignon Blanc in the US (our Nobilo brand is No 2!). We also produce small-batch wines only sold in New Zealand and Australia, including Wild Grace, Crafters Union and our ultra-premium Empirical brand.
We are in growth mode to meet demand for our wines overseas, and we are investing in our luxury wine and small-batch programmes. Our Chief Winemaker Wendy Stuckey is an internationally acclaimed winemaker who has been recognised as one of the Top 20 Most Admired People in the North American Wine Industry and Intowine.com’s Top 100 Most Influential US Winemakers.
If you want to work with the best winemakers, top-quality grapes, and state-of-the-art plant and equipment, look no further. Check back in late August or early September to apply at one of our three locations.
Our Drylands Winery is located a few kilometres outside of Blenheim in an area locally referred to as the 'Golden Mile'. We are in the process of doubling this winery over five years to meet growing demand for our Kim Crawford and Nobilo Sauvignon Blancs overseas. Known as our Sauvignon Blanc house, this is the largest of our wineries and the heart of our operations. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is world-renowned and if you want to dive into the distinctiveness of this grape produced in six sub-regions, then this is the place for you. Nobilo Winemaker Dave Edmonds is our resident expert in all things Sauv, and he'll be onsite to guide the winemaking process alongside Dave Williams, our Winery Operations Manager.
Headed by Kim Crawford Winemaker Anthony Walkenhorst, this is our small-batch winery that crafts our wines from Central Otago and smaller parcels in Marlborough. This site is based at Riverlands, a few kilometres south of Blenheim. Riverlands is our smallest facility, but home to a wide range of varietals, from Pinot Gris and Chardonnay to our luxury, hand-picked Pinot Noir programme. Cellar work here involves all aspects of winemaking, including barrel work, open-top fermenters, and more. If you want to know what it takes to craft an elegant Pinot Noir from hand-picked Central Otago fruit, this is the place for you.
Our Hawke's Bay operation is unique in the number of wines and styles we produce here. It's the home of Kim Crawford Rose, and a host of other wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay to a splash of Cabernet and Merlot. The season in Hawke's Bay kicks off just before March, about a month earlier than in Marlborough. We usually start vintage with harvesting grapes to craft our low-alcohol wines. If you want to learn about a little of everything having to do with wine styles and varietals, this is the place for you. Headed by Senior Winemaker Brett Fullerton (who started with us as a cellarhand 26 years ago!), this winery is based outside of Hastings, surrounded by the serene beauty of our vineyards. Our on-site Corner 50 Vineyard produces award-winning wines year after year, including Kim Crawford Small Parcels Chardonnay which recently won a gold medal at the Decanter Wine Awards in London. Cellar work here involves all aspects of winemaking, from barrel work and flotation to a variety of red cap management techniques.
